About game
Chess is a classic board game that's been around for ages. It's a great way to exercise your brain and improve your tactical thinking. The goal is to use your pieces to capture your opponent's king. Let the game begin!
Every chess set has a unique lineup of pieces, including a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights, and eight pawns. When you're ready to play, set up the board with the white pieces on the first and second rows, and the black pieces on the seventh and eighth. The pawns start on the second and the seventh rows.
How to play
To make a move, simply click on the piece you wish to use and then select the square on the board where you want to place it.
The objective of the game is to checkmate your opponent's king by strategically moving your 12 pieces across an 8x8 board. I encourage you to give it a go and may the best player win!
On the board, you'll see equal-sized square cells or fields. The board is divided into 8 rows (verticals) and 8 columns (horizontals), with each field identified by a letter (a-h) for the row and a number (1-8) for the column.
Each player starts with a set of pieces: a king, a queen, two rooks, two bishops, two knights and eight pawns. In the initial setup, the pieces are placed as illustrated in the diagram, with white pieces on the first and second rows and black pieces on the seventh and eighth rows. Pawns start on the second and seventh rows respectively.
