The objective of the game is to either capture all of your opponent's pieces or leave them without any possible moves. Pieces can only move diagonally and must land on an empty square. When a piece reaches the edge of the board, it becomes a king, gaining the ability to move both one square and multiple squares.
Similar to chess, checkers requires strategic planning and foresight to anticipate your opponent's next move. However, with its own set of unique rules and characteristics, checkers stands as an intriguing and enjoyable game.
How to play
Checkers is a two-player board game where each player has 12 pieces. The pieces are placed on the dark squares of the three rows closest to each player. The aim of the game is to capture all the opponent's pieces or block them so they cannot move. Pieces move one square diagonally forward and can jump over opponent's pieces to a free square. When a piece reaches the last row on the opponent's side, it becomes a «king», which can move any number of unoccupied squares along a diagonal line.
