The game board is divided into 100 squares, also known as fields. Each of these fields contains either a snake or a ladder. The objective of the game is simple: move your piece around the board and try not to be "eaten" by a snake. This means that you should avoid ending up on a lower square. Instead, use the ladders to climb up to a higher square. The winner is the first player to reach the hundredth square.
