However, if the space is already occupied, the player must pay rent to the owner. The key to success in "Financial Empire" lies in acquiring properties, forming monopolies over groups of matching-colored spaces, and constructing houses. The more houses you have on your properties, the more rent your opponents must pay you. Besides acquiring and selling properties, players can also engage in negotiations, exchanging properties, money, or agreeing to other terms.
