The game is played with one deck of 52 cards. The aim of the game is to arrange the cards by suit in order from Ace to King in four stacks (“houses”). A card can be moved to another card of a higher rank, but of a different color (black or red). In each of the four basic stacks (houses), in which all the cards must be placed, Aces are placed first, then twos, threes and so on up to the King. Cards can be dealt from the remaining deck either one or three at a time, depending on the modification. Only the king may be placed in a free cell (not the house).
