In Steel Drive, you don't control the steering — the vehicle maintains the racing line autonomously. Your task is to strategically decide when to launch a rocket at the leader, when to use nitro, and when to deploy the shield. Success goes to the most astute player on the track, not the one with the fastest reflexes.
Each race awards you with loot: engines, armor, boosters, and weapons. In the workshop, two identical parts can be combined into a rarer one, transforming your basic car into a top-tier S class vehicle that can withstand the harshest conditions, from taiga ice to chemical plant acid.
Five distinctive regions, knockout tournaments, treasure chests, and a battle pass with seasonal rewards await you. Meanwhile, your spare cars in the depot earn steel while you race.

By default, the vehicle drives and fires automatically, while the race goes at twice the speed. Your role is to come up with tactics: monitor the competition, accumulate charges, and attack at the optimal time.
You have three skills: nitro, weapon, and shield. Nitro helps you gain an advantage on straightaways, a rocket can knock the leader off course, and the shield absorbs incoming damage. Charges accumulate during the race, so it's unwise to use them all at the first opportunity.
If you want more control, join the Manual tournament, where there's no autopilot – you navigate the entire track using arrow keys or W, A, S, D.
After crossing the finish line, head to the garage. Loot will replenish your engine, armour, booster, and weapon slots. Don't discard weak parts; two matching items can be combined into one of a higher quality. Keep in mind that a car can't hold modules that exceed its class, so upgrade your vehicle first and then add rare equipment.
