There are 11 different heroes to choose from, each with their own unique tactics and abilities. These include the Knight, Mage, Paladin, Thief, Ruiner, Dark Druid, Sir Lancelot, Berserker, Assassin, Plague Doctor, and Archer. Defeating bosses not only adds difficulty to the game but also allows for the upgrade of the chosen hero.
