The Origins of Mario

Mario, now renowned for his mustache, mushroom eating, and iconic game theme song in the gaming industry, was brought to life by Shigeru Miyamoto, a renowned video game designer from Japan. This character, Mario, serves as the main figure in the Mario bros series and represents Nintendo, a prominent video game company in Japan.
Mario, initially called Jumpman, first appeared in the 1981 arcade hit, Donkey Kong. His creation was a response to a failed attempt to secure rights for Popeye, leading Miyamoto to design a new character. The constraints of arcade graphics shaped Marioโ€™s distinctive look, including his large nose, mustache, and overalls. This character quickly gained popularity, with over 60,000 arcade machines sold during that period.
Mario and his younger twin brother Luigi are Italian plumbers who reside in the Mushroom Kingdom. The primary goal of their adventures is to save Princess Peach from the evil Bowser, and they do this by using power-ups to acquire new skills.
Originally, Miyamoto envisioned Mario for brief appearances, predicting some controversy. The character, initially known as โ€œMr. Videoโ€ and โ€œJumpmanโ€, finally took the name, Mario, after Mario Segale, Nintendo of Americaโ€™s landlord. Since his inception, Mario has graced over 200 video games across various genres, from sports to puzzles. His enduring popularity attests to both the timeless charm of the character and Miyamotoโ€™s creative prowess. The journey of Mario, from an arcade figure to a beloved global icon, is a testament to the power of creativity and storytelling in gaming.

Towards the Modern Days!

As gaming has progressed over time, so have the games themselves. A couple of games you may be familiar with, similar to Mario games, have bridged the gap between what the Millennials are familiar with and the modern age of the Gen Z. One such intriguing retro game is Alex World. In this game, very much like Mario, Alex takes on the role of Hero. Your mission, should you choose to accept ๐Ÿ˜Ž, is to assist Alex in rescuing his beautiful Princess. Alex's world has been empty since the princess was kidnapped. Venture into the wild and prove you are the brave warrior Alex world needs in this time of peril.
Yet another transition game in the new gaming eras is Wario Run, which is a new take on Mario World but with a twist - there's no stopping, just running. Wario Run challenges players to navigate through an endless world filled with obstacles, enemies, and challenges, collecting coins and power-ups along the way. In this Mario-like game, the player has to jump over underground pipes, crush mushrooms, and fight off other enemies along the way.

Mario Fighting Games

These games feature your favorite Mario characters, in various stages and all kinds of battles. These games have different power-ups, fighting modes, making them fun and challenging. Super Boy.EXE is one such example. You will need to use their skill, strategy, and timing to win these exciting battles.

Mario Arcade Games

This category offers an exhilarating experience where players navigate through various challenges. The game boasts a variety of landscapes, power-ups, and distinct running styles, ensuring non-stop entertainment and strategic gameplay. Itโ€™s all about agility, strategy, and perfect timing in these adrenaline-fueled games. Wario Run is a standout in the realm of Mario Arcade games.
